As we say happy new year to 2022 and many of us are full of energy for new year adventure, dreams, plans, and resolutions. Some of us are been welcomed by another dilemma we all have been dealing with since 2019. You guess right covid -19, sometimes it different thing to read about it and another thing to experience it first hand.

According to a tweet from a friend (@deshysmall) “the scariest thing about this coronavirus is that you being careful is not enough, because your survival also depends on neighbors having sense and acting right” I totally agreed with him.

Omo this Covid-19 no be joke oooo ( that is pidgin language meaning Covid is not easy) pidgin is among the languages I speak with 7 more languages, we get into that details in another article.

I contacted Covid-19 which I called malaria premium in early January 2022. You might wonder why I called it malaria premium. And most people might also wonder why Africans are not affected as much as the west has. My conclusion is that is just an upgrade of malaria and African experience this on daily basis. Here are some facts and figures; according to the world health organization, Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It is preventable and curable. In 2020, there were an estimated 241 million cases of malaria worldwide. The estimated number of malaria deaths stood at 627 000 in 2020. The WHO African Region carries a disproportionately high share of the global malaria burden. In 2020, the region was home to 95% of malaria cases and 96% of malaria deaths. Children under 5 accounted for an estimated 80% of all malaria deaths in the Region. With this statistic, the media didn’t publish or let’s say market this disease as much as they are doing to Covid-19.

Now here is another reason why I called it malaria premium; the following are symptoms of malaria according to CDC,  Symptoms of malaria include fever and flu-like illness, including shaking chills, headache, muscle aches, and tiredness. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may also occur. Malaria may cause anemia and jaundice (yellow coloring of the skin and eyes) because of the loss of red blood cells.

And here are the symptoms of Covid-19 as well.

Most common symptoms: fever, cough, tiredness, loss of taste or smell,

Less common symptoms: sore throat, headache, aches, and pains, diarrhea, a rash on the skin, discoloration of fingers or toes, red or irritated eyes.

Serious symptoms: difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, loss of speech or mobility, or confusion, chest pain

For me, I regard the less common and most common symptoms as the premium part of the Covid-19 in comparison to malaria. I do have the common symptoms when I contacted this virus and tested positive and followed the isolation procedures, however, there is no directive on what type of medicine to use. I used the normal African herbal medicine we used to cure malaria as a means of treatment and it worked. This includes boiling ginger, garlic, lemon, adding honey to it, and drinking. I also eat fresh ginger which helps tremendously. The last part was boiling water and adding aboniki it’s an African thing anyway, and it to water. After that, I have to cover myself with a Blanket inhaling the hot water steam into my body. It’s is not pleasant but it works miracles. It’s the same heat you experience when you go to the sauna.

I strongly believe that most people that have not experienced malaria are scared of Covid and that is okay. However, I also think that the panic on Covid is also killing people faster than the Covid itself. I may be wrong but two years from now this Covid-19 will be declared as regular flu. I don’t have a medical background but I believe those with previous medical issues may have more rough experiences than the rest. I also think malaria medicine can also suppress or even cure this Covid.

I have terms and conditions ( those are the names I give my kids ) I will let you more in another article. They didn’t have the symptoms for Covid but they tested positive. The same traditional medication I used also works for them without being admitted to the hospital. They find it hard at first to eat ginger or garlic but with some honey, it works magic.

I am certain that there are some people that don’t want Covid-19 to be of anything soon because of the financial benefits they derive from it. This includes people selling face masks, testing kits, travel testing centers. During the time (19.01.2021) of writing this article, the British government just announced that face masks will not be made mandatory for people anymore.

“People are tired of this pandemic and life need to move on.”

Now how about the vaccine, what about it? Some people object to taking the vaccine and some like me decide to take it because something must kill a man. I foresee the government using this vaccine as a tool to discriminate against the unvaccinated. Take for example traveling, going to restaurants, wash movies, stadiums the list goes on. I know and believe this won’t solve any problems. The vaccinated are a carrier of this virus and they don’t know. And they tend to speed this virus quickly because they have the certificate to do so. Which on the other hand put the unvaccinated at risk.

The funny part of this pandemic for me is that getting the vaccine doesn’t stop you from getting the virus. However, it does help a bit. I also wonder why everyone has not been vaccinated against malaria and the like and everyone still lives. The force on vaccines is kind of a red flag for me because I don’t see why they have to force it on people.

I see the business side of the pandemic, from food to fuel price, to testing cost for travelers, medical equipment and the list goes on. With all this, I strongly believe there are many things we don’t know about the pandemic. Or should I say many things they are not telling us? But life has to continue and we have to pick our struggles.

It’s time to move on as many people have been preparing for the next surprise to come. What it is I don’t know but I know the business people behind the ordeal will not give up. I also think 70% of the world will be affected by this pandemic before we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
